Barry Gray’s theme for the TV Series “UFO” I love UFO- it is seriously the most epic show ever. Barry Gray wrote some great tunes for television including “Thunderbirds Are Go” and “Space: 1999.” On its face, the show is very “Austin Powers” and over-the-top, but it’s actually fairly dramatic at times, and covers topics such as divorce, adultery and the death of a child. The show aired in 1970, but was set in 1980. The sets, props and costumes are pretty amazing if you have Mod and mid-century leanings. Real men wear wigs. ;)

“REVOLUTION OF THE HEART” by Howard Jones
Remember Howard Jones? No? He was a fairly famous performer back in the 80s. This is from his 2005 album of the same name. I love how he layers vocals and a classical piano over a thumping, driving club beat. I also love that he’s still making records- especially now with the whole “retro 80s” thing going on.
